I had so much fun working with Erin, Eric, and Emmalyn over the past year. I got to watch this sweet girl grow up while capturing it all. I wanted to put up a little post of my favorite shot from each session. I love these guys, and I'm so glad I got to shoot all these for them!

I opened my car door, stepped out into the muggy air, and was immediately surrounded with five kids. Before I could get out a word, I was asked, "What's your name?" The kids geeked out when they realized their sister and I had the same name. Immediately they loved me! I got to know everyone's name (though I still messed up several times!), and Heather and Chloe took my hands and refused to let go. We skipped (carefully. $$$ camera gear holding up by a mere strap around my body.) We were silly. We were just kids. And that's all it took for these sweet kiddos to love me and want to take awesome pictures. As we moved from one location to the next, they begged to ride in my car. I was officially "cool." Taking kids' pictures can't be about being perfect. It's about being real. It's about letting the kid's personality shine through. It's about letting them be who they really are and getting to capture that beauty. Thanks so much, Isbell's, for letting me capture you all! I had a blast.
I never got around to sharing this family's whole session... better late than never though! Amanda is a distant cousin of mine. I was so excited when she asked me to photograph her family! Her kiddos are so cute. Amanda put together great outfits for them! Tricia was a little wary of having her picture taken. Amanda told me that Tricia told her, "I am not smiling for a hairy man!" (Previous photo experience...) Thankfully, I am not a hairy man. ;) I'm a 15 year old girl who isn't too bad with kids if I do say so myself. :) I pulled out all the stops to get the shots. Even, "look for the butterfly that hides in my lens!" Haha. I had fun with this cute family. They are really sweet, and I hope family pictures can become a fun, annual occasion! :) Ending with some preciousness right there. ^^ :) Thanks again, guys! :)
