I had so much fun working with Erin, Eric, and Emmalyn over the past year. I got to watch this sweet girl grow up while capturing it all. I wanted to put up a little post of my favorite shot from each session. I love these guys, and I'm so glad I got to shoot all these for them!

On the drive home from "the lake", our home away from home on the Tennessee River, sister mentioned the inevitable reality check once you've arrived back home. "At the lake, you're in a bubble with your family away from the hustle and bustle and schedules of real life. You get home, and it's back to being busy and running all over the place all the time."
She nailed it. In a world where wifi and fast food restaurants don't exist, the lake is our haven away from reality. Where the smell of lake water welcomes and encourages you after the twisty roads. Where the sun melts across your face while you read The Fault in Our Stars on the front porch with your feet kicked up. Where you laugh out loud while tubing because you've been repeatedly assaulted by the water's splashes. Where you eat every meal and spend every moment together with your whole family and you thank God for the blessing that that is. Where you make memories in the house, or the boat, or the golf cart that'll light up a smile on your face any time you think back on those sweet times. Of course it's always nice to come home, especially for a homebody like me, but thankfully the magic of a place that lacks a dose of reality is just a drive away. I had such a great time shooting Brittany and Kevin's wedding! I met Brittany about 2 and a half years ago because she was a bridesmaid for Rachel, the bride of the first wedding of my very own! I remember her mentioning having me shoot her wedding whenever the time came, and 2 and a half years later, here we are!
Brittany and Kevin's wedding took place at the Five Star Retreat in Lyles, TN. Everything was so beautiful, from the flower arrangement and bouquets to the handmade arbor built by Brittany's dad which the ceremony took place in front of. Every detail was so perfect. The newlyweds celebrated and then left with a sparkler grand exit. I'm so happy for you two, and I wish you the best! Thank you so much for having me shoot your special day! Be sure to check out their slideshow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR36-xaFX40 Oh, Kendall and Zac... How do I even write how much I adored shooting you two. Your love is so beautiful and inspiring. We had another session planned for that day anyways, and Kendall texted me and told me that she and Zac had gotten married! I freaked out in excitement and began thinking of how we were going to turn the beginning of our session into bride and groom shots! Kendall's cute white dress was perfect for the simple, summery, boho look we were going for. Both barefoot, they looked perfect. Pretty proud of $5 bouquet I managed to find. It really added the perfect pop of color and "bride-ness" to the pictures. I had an absolute blast shooting you two. You're simply gorgeous people that photograph so well. I'm so excited I got to capture this important moment in your lives together. I can't wait for more photographing adventures ahead. Much love to you both! Thank you for having me shoot pictures on your first day as man and wife!
XOXO Briana I'm pretty sure I don't have enough good things to say about McKenzie... Well for one she's my cousin, (and that makes her pretty awesome, right? :) ) and she wanted me to shoot her senior pictures when we were at the lake for our family reunion. I was thrilled! The lake is tucked full with beautiful places to shoot. We scouted locations on Tuesday morning, but we decided to go out to the closest town- still a good 30 minutes away- to search for old buildings and neat places. We went to Ft. Donaldson, and found the gorgeous field and other backdrops. On our way back, we took a wrong turn, got pretty lost, but found the most gorgeous scene- wildflowers and trees and wild nature area. We were finally ready to head back as the sun was sinking, and right before we were home we stopped at a spot we had picked out earlier that day, wooden steps built into a hillside covered with purple wildflowers. It was perfect. And that was just day 1. So we were thrilled with our shooting and our location finds, but McKenzie had more outfits to go through, and I had more places I wanted to shoot! So the best part about vacation is staying 30 feet from one another and shooting again the next night! McKenzie was amazing at every pose I gave her! She could totally be a model. I had SO much fun shooting these and editing them too! Thank you so much for letting me shoot your senior pictures, McKenzie! Have a great senior year. :)
BOP I was beyond excited when Amber asked me to do her senior pictures and even more excited when she said she wanted to get in on the 4 seasons special!
I love the idea of getting to come back together and shoot 4 times during the course of your senior year. I created this for a couple of reasons. For one, it's hard to decide when you want to have your senior pictures made! Each season has something special to it. Another thing is having too many outfits to choose from! I love that with the seasons you get to have 8-10 different outfits with different looks for each season. Love the versatility. And another reason is how much we all change within the course of a year. Maybe we've lost braces and weight or changed our hair cut, but you get to see that progression over the course of your senior year. So fun. Back to Amber! Ok, Amber is seriously one of the sweetest, kindest people I know. We've become good friends from shooting together often! She's super stylish and gorgeous, so gorgeous shots came so easily! Here's her summer debut. I opened my car door, stepped out into the muggy air, and was immediately surrounded with five kids. Before I could get out a word, I was asked, "What's your name?" The kids geeked out when they realized their sister and I had the same name. Immediately they loved me! I got to know everyone's name (though I still messed up several times!), and Heather and Chloe took my hands and refused to let go. We skipped (carefully. $$$ camera gear holding up by a mere strap around my body.) We were silly. We were just kids. And that's all it took for these sweet kiddos to love me and want to take awesome pictures. As we moved from one location to the next, they begged to ride in my car. I was officially "cool." Taking kids' pictures can't be about being perfect. It's about being real. It's about letting the kid's personality shine through. It's about letting them be who they really are and getting to capture that beauty. Thanks so much, Isbell's, for letting me capture you all! I had a blast.
Harlee has been wanting to do a shoot for a while, and we finally got around to it a few weekends ago. FIELD + TRUCK + YOUNG COUPLE IN LOVE = 1 Happy Photographer. :) I couldn't have dreamed of a more wonderful session! Harlee is super sweet, and Michael is too. Michael was completely into the shoot, which doesn't happen very often with most guys!! It was AWESOME! He came up with so many good poses! It was fantastic. They way they look at each other is just adorable. I had an absolute blast editing these images. I LOVE the different styles just by the lighting. There are hazy, bold, and sunset warm images all together. They all mesh together though! I just love it! This was one of the most fun and successful shoots I think I have ever done, and I'm just thrilled! I hope you all love these as much as I do! <3 Are you as in LOVE with these as I am?! Leave me a comment telling me!
